Weekly Round Up: Brave, The Griswolds, Sam Smith and Yuko Nishiyama

Brave – Writing and recording in his bedroom studio from the age of 15, Brave (AKA Maia Witika) is an indie-pop wunderkind. The soulful jam ‘What about Me’ was released on the artists Soundcloud last week with a clip debuting on themusic.com.au. With driving piano chords and a catchy beat to get you moving, the future looks bright for Brave.
Brave – ‘Brave EP’ available August 22nd
You know what else... it's a free download from his soundcloud! (see embed below)

The Griswolds have an awesome new clip for ‘Beware The Dog’. It's gory as hell with a nonsensical amount of flying limbs. Fucking crazy! Crazy...Crazy...Crazy

Sam Smith - I'm Not The Only One If you're feeling in a ballad mood I would seriously recommend checking out the debut album by Sam Smith. His falsetto's will have you all weepy and feeling feelings. This is the newest single off the album and I can't get it outta my head. I almost wish I was currently experiencing a level of unbearable heartbreak to coincide with the stuff he is singing about.  Just a quick FYI, the below video is NSFW but for FOMO you should just watch it anyway. YOLO.... ergh. It does have Chris Messina (AKA Danny Castellano from The Mindy Project) being a super cheating jerk.

Yuko Nishiyama Indie-Popster Yuko is a new voice for the Australian music scene, and a pretty one at that. Her hypnotic tones and subtle rhythms make for one hell of a debut. First single, Heart Of Daisies details a friends struggle to navigate the confusing terrain of love and relationships. It provides us with a glimpse into the delicate song writing abilities of Yuko.   “Beautiful vocals” – Gotye; "I got caught up in this. This song is a flower." - Lewi McKirdy, triple j   Yuko Nishiyama – ‘Parade’ Available from August 8
