Weekly Round Up: The Killers w/M83, Seekae, Solange and The Weeknd

'Another' by Aussie electronic artists Seekae is a disturbing portrayal of the Bolivian tradition of burying a body in the foundations of a building to ensure good fortune for the builders during the perilous construction period. In the spirit of this practice, homeless people are often lured onto an empty site and forced to drink until they pass out so that they can be buried alive beneath the foundations as a human sacrifice.

The video's English born Director (now based in Bolivia) Ian Pons Jewell explains his influence:
“A sacrifice, to strengthen the building and keep the builders safe in this hazardous occupation (scaffolding is wooden, and harnesses aren’t used so much). The building would then be built on top of this sacrificed man. It changed my whole outlook as I would journey through the city, all these high-rises were like a tombstone for some poor alcoholic. But what a tombstone. A tombstone with people living inside it.”

Sin City Rockers The Killers have paired up with M83's Anthony Gonzales to produce their newie 'Shot At The Night'. The clip features Australian Bella Heathcote as a Las Vegas maid who meets one of the hotel guests by chance and runs away for the night with him and his friends.

Fav Lyrics:
"Draw me a life line, 'cause honey I got nothing to lose
Once in a lifetime, give me a shot at the night"

If anyone knows how to successfully step out from a siblings gigantic-all-encompassing shadow... it's effing Solange. Lovers In The Parking Lot is a followup to her 2012 hit Losing You from the undeniably addictive True EP. She is really setting herself apart from Bey.

The Weeknd is back and boy are things getting intense. Sex...Murder... Revenge...his new clip has got it all. Not to mention killer lyrics
"There are certain things that I've come to understand
Expectations can kill a simple man, simple man
I try to master the art, of that far away love
Only so much can keep a woman warm
Now it's times like this that I say to myself
We've been living in a cold, cold world
But at least I have you to rely
Even if for a short time
As long as you know that when I land you're mine"

The ballad portrays a pretty misogynistic approach to a relationship but with that said it's impressive and beautifully shot. (Heads up this one is definitely NSFW)
