A Week In Music Feat. Elizabeth Rose, Flume, Albert Hammond Jnr, Janelle Monae and Avril

I've recently discovered Elizabeth Rose. Her second EP is expected to drop later this year.

Her latest is the Good Life, a fantastic ode to electro which she produced herself in the UK is a shining display of her vocal talents. Lyrically the track portrays Lizzie's desires to leave the comforts of her family and home to follow her dreams. I think we can all agree she is on the right track.

This said, electro isn't my favourite genre so I'd love to hear an acoustic version of this track.

Fav Lyrics:
"Broken the silence
And silence is golden
But I had to make a motion
"

Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jnr recently came out and said he doesn't "need" The Strokes...Fuck You Albie! Thankfully with a release like Yours To Keep he has cemented himself in my heart forever so I can forgive such blasphemy.

His new clip for St Justice shows a sensitive side to the rock star unseen before. A black and white depiction of a turbulent relationship including a sex scene (raunchier than I would have predicted for a artist of AHJ's calibre) and a truly believable break up with a girl in desperate need of a sandwich.

St Justice is the guitarist's first release since his stint in rehab back in 2009. It will feature on his new EP titled AHJ along with the following tracks:
+ Cooker Ship
+ Strange Tidings
+ Carnal Cruise
+ Rude Customer

P.S Flick to 1:06 to see the girlfriend shrug-off a Strokes record.

One of my favourite Ladies at the moment (and many previous moments) Janelle Monae has released the clip for Primetime, undoubtedly one of the stand-out tracks on her most recent The Electric Lady. The track and video feature RnB's current heart throb Miguel.

Yep, that guy.

The dystopian love story is set in a fictional metropolis and was directed by Alan Ferguson.

The director had this to say about the story: "PrimeTime is a love story based on the early adventures of Cindi Mayweather (Janelle MonĂ¡e) and her first love Joey Vice (Miguel.) The Emotion Picture gives a glimpse at Cindi’s humble beginnings as a “cyber-server” at the Electric Sheep nightclub, a syn bar serving high-class “show droids” to the rich and lonely in a dangerous section of Metropolis known as Slop City. Incidentally, the innovative cybersoul music played at the club directly impacted Cindi, and she began singing and performing her own innovative compositions a short time after quitting this assignment. In addition, Cindi became determined to change the public perception of what an electric lady could be, dream and aspire to after working in the dismal conditions at the club."

Sydney's favourite young larrikin is back with deluxe proportions. Flume's award winning self titled debut has secured a re-release on November 8 with additional material.

3. Flume - Insane feat. Killer Mike & Moon Holiday

If that wasn't good news enough for ya, here is a sneak peak at Intro feat. Stalley

Flume aka Harley Streten is currently on a European tour with Disclosure.

That's almost it for this week folks, however I shall leave you with this cringe worthy collaboration from Mr and Mrs Nickleback. Hopefully God will forgive mankind for this...

So dumb...so so so so dumb.
